So, my friends from “back home” recently tried to surprise me for my birthday (it was a milestone birthday – this isn’t something we do on a regular basis). Even though they were unsuccessful in the surprise element it was still a really fun weekend spent with some of the best people I know.
Every time I have the opportunity to get together with these ladies I am reminded of just how lucky I am to have these life-long friendships. We have shared the ups and downs of life in all its stages. We celebrate the victories – marriage and children; new jobs and promotions; new homes and moves; and, good health. We mourn the losses – death of parents, grandparents, and spouses; downsizing; and, health scares. We build up one another and we support each other through it all.
Mandt discusses the importance of healthy relationships each week in our training events and I’m lucky enough to live it on a daily basis. When I talk about the importance of those relationships I can’t help but think of these awesome women in my life and I’m so thankful.
