Why do we work in Human Services?

A Philosopher by the name of Albert Schweitzer once said. “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know; the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found a way to serve.”

Why Do We Work In Human Services? I know one reason is there is always a reason to come to work. Another human needs our help, consistency and our kindness. You will have an opportunity to work with other dedicated staff with the desire to serve. Each and every day is different certainly not an assembly line putting things together with what seems like no purpose.

It is an opportunity to change lives and give people hope. We should always remember as Dan Rather puts it, “it is easy to make a buck, it is a lot harder to make a difference. We provide a variety of services and wear many hats and gain significant experience.

Human services is about giving people hope, watching the people we serve succeed is truly inspiring.

So why do you work in human services?
