6/8 – Mandt Covid-19 General Update

Since our last update at the end of April many things have changed. Like you, we continue to monitor what is taking place around the world in regard to the COVID-19 outbreak.  It remains our number one priority to keep our faculty and your staff healthy and safe.  Because of changes at a federal, state and local level, we have also made some changes

In recent weeks we have started to once again do face to face trainings.  In many states they still require smaller groups and we have adjusted accordingly.  We have also taken many precautions to make sure we are as safe as possible, even when doing the technical skills portions of the course.   For a full list of the precautions taking place in training events, please click the following link.

In April we implemented for instructors due to expire before August 31st, a virtual recertification path.  This has allowed already certified trainers to get recertified without having to attend an in-person event.  It does require video capability with our faculty and a coaching follow up at a future point as well as the ability to take part of the course in an eLearning format.  There was an overwhelming response to this offer, and it has been very successful.  Because of the success, and our returning to live events, the time slots for video recertification have filled up quickly.  As of June 12, 2020, we will no longer take any more recerts in the to enroll into the virtual recertification program.  We thank all you who have already signed up and would encourage you to complete the e-Learning portions as soon as you can so you can be assigned to a video time slot as they are becoming more and more limited.

In the case where instructors will expire but do not need to teach and would prefer not to do the virtual recertification, we will continue to have an extended grace period of 120 days.  This means you can still attend a training event without penalty of having to attend a full event.  Please note, just like before, if you are in your grace period you are not allowed to instruct and are currently not certified to use the physical skills.

Initially we implemented a grace period for students that previously did not exist.  The current grace period for students is until August 31st.  This is a grace period that allows students to expire and still recertify without penalty of having to attend the full training again.  It is NOT a certification extension.  Please be very aware that this is a Mandt decision, but you must know what your own governances will allow.

We will continue to monitor what needs to take place to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders.  If you have questions, please contact us by logging a case in the MRC, contacting us at https://mandtsystem.com.au/contact/#general or calling us at +61-800-810-0755.

4/22 – Mandt Covid-19 General Update

– Since our first update in March many things have changed. Like you, we continue to monitor what is taking place around the world in regard to the COVID-19 outbreak.  It remains our number one priority to keep our faculty and your staff healthy and safe.  Because of changes at a federal, state and local level, we have also made some changes.  All events have been postponed until the week of May 18th and we daily continue to monitor events still pending for May.

We have implemented for instructors due to expire before August 31st, a virtual recertification path.  This allows already certified trainers to get recertified without having to attend an in-person event.  It does require video capability with our faculty and a coaching follow up at a future point as well as the ability to take part of the course in an eLearning format.  This has been very successful in the early weeks of the program and we will continue to adjust as necessary.

The initial grace period was until the end of May but because so many school systems have decided to not resume face to face gatherings until next fall, we are extending the student grace period until August 31st.  This is a grace period that allows students to expire and still recertify without penalty of having to attend the full training again.  It is NOT a certification extension.  Please be very aware that this is a Mandt decision, but you must know what your own governances will allow.

These are not easy decisions and we realise that the situation remains ever changing.  We will continue to monitor what needs to take place to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders.  We look forward to a day in the near future where we can go back to once again providing and maintaining the highest safety standards in the industry.  If you have questions, please contact us by logging a case in the MRC, e-mailing us at [email protected] or calling us at +61-800-810-0755.

3/30 – Social Distancing Update

With the US government update and extension of social distancing guidance until 30th April 2020 a number of Mandt events are impacted.  If you were scheduled to attend an event in this period as a new or recertifying instructor, these events are now postponed.

Please contact [email protected] for further options to discuss alternate certification options.

3/20 – Update

– Like you, we continue to monitor what is taking place around the world regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. The health and safety of our faculty and your staff remain our number one priority. The CDC is now asking that all public gatherings are limited to 10 people or less. Keeping in line with the guidelines of 15 days and out of an abundance of caution, we are postponing Mandt Instructor Training events until April 4th, 2020. Events will resume the week of April 6th subject to ongoing federal guidance. We understand that this will be an inconvenience for many of you. Please know that we are working on ways to help your staff maintain certification in the interim until it is safe to once again gather together.

If your instructor certification expires on or before April 30, 2020:
If you are an Instructor who must continue to teach during this time but your recertification event has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we will contact you with ways to maintain your certification until you can attend a rescheduled event. Our faculty will be available to do a combination of eLearning training and video conferencing to provide a short extension on your certification status. In the case where instructors will expire but do not need to teach, we are extending our normal grace period from 90 days to 120 days; meaning instructors can attend an instructor training event as a recert without the penalty of having to attend the full event within that period. Please remember, just as before, if you are in your grace period you are not allowed to instruct and are currently not certified to use the physical skills. Please note: this option only applies to those already certified and not to new instructors.

If your student certification expires on or before April 30, 2020:
Student certifications that are expiring in March and April are now being allowed a grace period to May 31, 2020 where they can be recertified and not have to attend a full course. Please be aware that this extension is a Mandt System decision and you are responsible for knowing what your own governance allows. It is also important to remember that when organisations go back to work, you will not want a backlog in training. We encourage the use of the e-learning and test out options available in the Mandt Resource Center (MRC). Either of these programs can be purchased and issued to students to complete anywhere they have internet access. E-learning will help your staff maintain certification while practising social distancing. Please note that technical training is not included in e-learning and will need to be completed in person once it is safe to do so. This training can be added to their Relational certificates to complete their certification and to minimise the backlog of training.

These are not easy decisions and we appreciate your patience at this time. We realise the situation changes by the minute and we are continuing to monitor the latest updates to ensure the safety of all our stakeholders. We look forward to the near future when we can once again provide and maintain the highest safety standards in the industry. If you have questions, please contact us by logging a case in the MRC, e-mailing us at [email protected] or calling us at 1-800-810-0755.

Your In-house Training

We understand that there are concerns about conducting in-person training while taking precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19. We recommend that you follow the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) during any trainings conducted and help assist your students in every way possible to help keep people as safe and comfortable as possible. During your training, you may want to provide hand sanitiser, take frequent breaks and encourage people to wash their hands, provide gloves during physical technique exercises, consistently sanitise the training area with wipes/sanitisers, etc.
If your area or organisation is currently in a position where in-person training is currently not an option, there are still other pathways than can be utilised to help maintain your student’s certification. While the Technical portions of our program may not be available to you all at this time, it is important to remember that a student’s expiration date is based on their Relational training. Therefore, if they are recertified in the Relational section, then they will not expire. We offer an eLearning course available for purchase in your MRC for all non-physical chapters as well as an Online Recertification Test-Out option for your more experienced students. Either of these programs can be purchased and issued to students online for them to take on their own to help maintain their certification. Once it is safe to do so, Technical training can then be conducted and added to their Relational certificates to complete their certification. Please note that while the eLearning program will help keep the student out of an expired status, they will not be certified in any of the Technical skills until the in-person Technical portion of the course can be completed.

The expiration date of the technical skills for students is the date given on their certificates.  Unfortunately, we cannot change the standards around technical certification dates or give extensions as they were created to meet and/or exceed what are known to be best practices for safety in our industry.  They also are often standards that are in place by governing bodies or regulatory systems, so therefore, it is good to know what your own governances say in regard to staff’s requirements and certifications if they are expected to continue to provide safety to individual’s served.  So, if a student expires the standard is have them go through the full course again.  So, if you can do the relational recertification and do the technical skills at a later date you would be able to avoid the full certification.
